Welcome to

The USS Astraea NCC 112178 is a Ronin Class starship commissioned in 2378. Under the command of Captain Blake O’Reilly, Astraea was sent on a five-year exploration mission and returned home in 2383 for a scheduled a refit.

In 2384, Astraea was sent out on another five-year exploration mission but returned only one year later, after an away mission gone wrong left Captain O’Reilly unable to continue his duties. A month after her return she was sent out again, this time under the command of Captain Henry Julius, on another 5-year mission of exploration. Three years later, Astraea limped home after a run in with an unknown enemy left her in need of serious repairs.

Now, after a year of repair and an early refit, Astraea is ready to once again explore the stars. With Captain Julius now on to bigger and better things, Commander Arianna Warren was chosen to be her new Commanding Officer.

Astraea’s home port was reassigned to the newly recommissioned Faltan Station in order to allow her to explore the newly expanded borders of the Sovereignty of Kahless. Her mission is to gather intelligence on the SoK’s movements and the recently defected House of Mo’Kai.

Rating:

Will you join Commander Warren as she delves into the unknown?

Status Update: December Edition

Welcome to Astraea’s December Status Update! It’s getting colder and the holidays are drawing closer. From now until January 6th, I am relaxing our posting rules. But I do hope that you all will still continue on with the puzzle rooms!

Crew

This month saw Heyho join us as Lieutenant JG Jeananne Sandberg, our new Chief Security/Tactical Officer! Currently her character is stranded on a station waiting for us to arrive. I have created an NPC to join her, if anyone else would like to do so, feel free!

Website

This month, I finally took down the defunct ship status mod. I will get the new specs up as soon as we go into the shoreleave mission.

Sim

This month we did 3 posts. It’s slow going with these big JPs but we’re on the home stretch now. Just three more rooms to go!

Again, I ask that you all please take a look at the list of crew awards! I would like to start utilizing them!

Mission Recap

Ari had come up with, in her opinion, a brilliant plan to have fun as a team and blow off some steam on the holodeck. Unfortunately, things never go her way and a program none of them created began to play. First, they were lured to a cottage in the woods. Then, when they entered, the first room gave us all a peek into Axiae’s past! The second and third rooms had us seeing Alyse’s and Sayori’s fears.

What else does this program have in store for the Astraea crew and will they ever escape it? Stay tuned to find out!

Objectives

*Escape the holodeck program!

Player of the Month

The Player of the Month for November is Andrew, who plays our beloved Purple Pixie, Lieutenant JG Sayori Summers! Andrew’s always good for posting, and getting things going. He’s also very good at taking an idea and running with it!

Congratulations Andrew! Despite what Stuart says, we all love Sayori!

Ideas

If anyone has any ideas for character development or even some subplots, share them with us. Shout them from the rooftops if you must! Though please take into consideration time of day and your neighbour’s eardrums.

That’s it for this month’s Status Update! Keep up the good work!

Any questions, comments, or issues, please don’t hesitate to contact the Command team. We are here for you!

Status Update: November Edition

Welcome to Astraea’s November Status Update! It’s starting to snow everywhere. Stores are puking Christmas all over the place. 2020 is crawling ever closer and I don’t think I’m ready for it! Heck, I wasn’t even ready for November to start, as evidenced by this being so late! What about you guys?

Crew

We’ve had no changes this month to our crew numbers. Though, with the losses the last few months, I'm planning on doing some recruitment soon. I'm trying to hold off until we start the shoreleave mission first, so that we don't have someone jumping in mid mission again. But I’m probably going to put an ad in FallFest today.

Website

No website changes this month. I will get the new specs up as soon as we go into the shoreleave mission.

The Player of the Month for October is Sam, who plays our beloved Doctor, Lieutenant JG Charles Tylor! Despite a busy RL, Sam has taken Kris’ room concept and run with it. Quite entertainingly as well, I might add!

Congratulations Sam! We all <3 you, Doctor Charlie! :D

Welcome to Astraea’s October Status Update! It’s finally Fall! I’m probably not in the majority when I say this is the best time of the year! The leaves are changing, Thanksgiving is soon for us Canucks, and more importantly, Halloween is coming! Also, I recently celebrated my birthday, so that’s always a great time of year!

Crew

We’ve had no changes this month to our crew numbers. Though, with the losses the last few months, I'm planning on doing some recruitment soon. I'm trying to hold off until we start the shoreleave mission first, so that we don't have someone jumping in mid mission again.

Again, I ask that you all please take a look at the list of crew awards! I would like to start utilizing them!

Mission Recap

While the crafty Chief Engineer regained control of the ship after it fled, seemingly by itself, from the Starfleet vessel accusing Commander Ari Warren and Lt. Commander Liam McCarthy of treason, she was unable to do so before they entered S.o.K. territory. This was a dangerous place to be, though for the time being, it was much better than being within Starfleet territory.

Not having the structural integrity, nor the firepower, to take on a full-on Klingon fleet nor the heavily armed weapons facility, Ari discussed a plan of action with her second officer, Lt. Alyse Batari. Though Ari would never admit to her part in it, the plan to send a small team in was hatched. Alyse took her long-time friend, Lt. Marna Rhosyn and a couple of security guards to the weapons facility. There, the team hacked into the computers, stole data, some of which proving Ari and Liam’s innocence, and sabotaged the facility.

Shortly after returning to the Astraea, though with a few injuries, Alyse triggered the trap they placed, which caused the facility to explode. Their mission accomplished, Ari ‘admonished’ her team and confined them all to quarters as punishment.

A few days later, Ari came up with a, in her opinion, brilliant plan to have fun as a team and blow off some steam on the holodeck. Unfortunately, things never go her way and a program none of them created began to play. What does this program have in store for the Astraea crew and will they ever escape it? Stay tuned to find out!

Objectives

*Escape the holodeck program!

Player of the Month

The Player of the Month for September is Kris, who plays Lt. Alyse Batari! She has consistently assisted in moving the story line forward and gone out of her way to help me. Both Stu and I are in complete agreement that she deserves PoTM this month (she has no clue until now! Surprise!)!

Congratulations Kris! Astraea would not be what it is without you, Kris! You are invaluable to me and this sim!

Ideas

If anyone has any ideas for character development or even some subplots, share them with us. Shout them from the rooftops if you must! Though please take into consideration time of day and your neighbour’s eardrums.

Status Update: September Edition

Welcome to Astraea’s September Status Update! It's back to school time! Summer's nearly over, and routines are returning to normal. This means I'm going back to enforcing our 3 day tag reply and/or one post per 14 days rules. So, if you think you're going to miss these deadlines, please just drop me a line letting me know. I'm more lenient when I know that something's come up.

Crew

This month we lost our Chief Intel, Lieutenant JG Alex Hackett due to personal reasons. It is unfortunate, but hopefully in the future he can return to simming.

With the losses the last few months, I'm planning on doing some recruitment soon. I'm trying to hold off until we start the shoreleave mission first, so that we don't have someone jumping in mid mission again.

Website

No website changes this month. I will get the new specs up as soon as we go into the shoreleave mission.

Sim

This month we did 4 posts. I know it's slow going with this mission. I plan on moving us forward a few more days and getting the battle underway on Thursday. If anyone has any issues or any ideas to throw in, send me a message and we can work on getting the ideas in or issues worked out!

Again, I ask that you all please take a look at the list of crew awards! I would like to start utilizing them!

Mission Recap

Astraea set out for Faltan Station to retrieve replacement parts. Along the way, they are stopped by a Starfleet vessel. Ari and Liam are accused of treason, but before anything can happen, the ship suddenly takes off. After two days of fighting, our Chief Engineer took a manual approach and breached the wall of the auxiliary core to find a member of the Livermoore crew at the controls.

The crafty engineer regained control of the ship, but it was too late to stop us from breaching SoK territory! Will we be detected? Why did the Livermoore man take control of the ship? What is in store for Astraea next? Keep up and we’ll solve the riddle together!

Objectives

*Figure out why the Livermoore crewman hijacked the ship
*Repair the ship
*Solve the mystery of the Captain’s disappearance, if possible
*Investigate Ambassador J’apow’s information on the weapons facility

Player of the Month

The players of the Month for August are Patrick, Lieutenant Felan Aixae our Chief Counselor, and Sam, who plays Lieutenant JG Charles Tylor, our Chief Medical Officer. Yes, you read that right! We have a tie for PoTM this month, again!

Patrick has taken the storyline of the Space Entity on, come up with a hilariously good idea, and run full steam ahead with his idea! I look forward to reading his shenanigans, even if I groan when I realize he's done something else.

Sam is adapting to the new side story and having his own fun with it. He is always willing to work his way into the story and find himself something to do. He is also way too encouraging with Patrick's shenanigans!

Congratulations Patrick and Sam! I can't wait to see what you both come up with next!

Ideas

If anyone has any ideas for character development or even some subplots, share them with us. Shout them from the rooftops if you must! Though please take into consideration time of day and your neighbour’s eardrums.

That’s it for this month’s Status Update! Keep up the good work!

Status Update: August Edition

Welcome to Astraea’s August Status Update! Holy crap where has time gone? How is it August already? Either way, this year is going fast. And I completely missed the one year birthday of the Astraea! That’s right, Astraea is a year old already! Our first ever post was sent out on July 30, 2018! I want to thank you all for being here, helping make Astraea such a fun sim! I enjoy writing with you all and look forward to another year (hopefully many more!) of shenanigans with you lot!

Crew

This month we lost our Chief Sec/Tac, Lt. Nathan Donovan. Star Geek stepped up to replace him, but before he could get a start, he decided the sim wasn’t for him.

Website

No website changes this month. Though we’ve decided on the Luna class as a replacement for the Ronin. I intend to change the specs up to better fit our crew and our sim needs/wants, so if you have any input or requests, please put them up in the Ship discussion channel on our Discord. I have new images to make for the site too, which I’m hoping to do soon.

Sim

This month we did 9 posts. I was hoping to see a few more solo posts, but that is quite alright. If you’re struggling with coming up with things for your character, please come talk to me! I promise we’ll get through this mission as quickly as possible and get on to some fun!

Speaking of fun, it’s nearly time for the holodeck mission. I hope you’ve all been working on your puzzle room for this! If you’re struggling, again come talk to me or any of the command team and we will help you sort something out! I’d like for you all to base it on one of your character’s fears, but it doesn’t have to. You do what you feel is right for your part!

Again, I ask that you all please take a look at the list of crew awards! I would like to start utilizing them!

Mission Recap

The Ambassador safely at Faltan Station and the four new crew finally reaching the Astraea, there were only two things left to do. Find out what happened to Captain Warren, who disappeared for a few hours and then returned. The anomaly disappeared and was replaced with a warp signature. But what does this mean?

No time to figure that out! The ship needs to be repaired! Though we have the supplies for the majority of the repairs, Astraea still needs a few parts. Once warp capabilities are returned, Astraea sets out for Faltan Station to retrieve these parts.

The players of the Month for July are Kris, Lieutenant Alyse Batari, and Andrew (Taral), who plays Lieutenant JG Sayori Summers, our Chief Engineer. Yes, you read that right! We have a tie for PoTM this month!

Despite real life trying to bring her down, Kris has been active and contributing regularly to the joint posts she’s part of.

Andrew is always enthusiastic and enjoys joint posts and joining in Confusedfire’s fun in the discord channel.

Congratulations Kris and Andrew! I truly enjoy having you both on my sim and am looking forward to what you do next!

Ideas

If anyone has any ideas for character development or even some subplots, share them with us. Shout them from the rooftops if you must! Though please take into consideration time of day and your neighbour’s eardrums.

That’s it for this month’s Status Update! Keep up the good work!
